The TwitchFreak Medium is the latest addition to the Millerods production line up! Originally designed for bass anglers fishing jerkbaits and twitched lures in impoundments and big rivers, this rod has impressed us so much in the saltwater estuaries it has now become our favourite when fishing jerkbaits for flathead!
In fact, any application targeting medium sized fish that requires presenting a lure 5-15gm in weight – especially hard bodied lures – will be ideal with this rod!
Based on the hugely popular TwitchFreak Lt model, this new rod offers more power for stepping up lure size and targeted fish size while maintaining the same multi-loading action that makes the TwitchFreak such a special rod!
And with this release Millerods also announces the new ‘Armour 40-5’ blank construction! This all new blank technology is the ultimate in blank reinforcement – the optimal solution to create a more robust blank while maintaining the Millerods benchmarks of lightweight sensitivity!
This new Medium weight model continues to offer great balance and amazing sensitivity for ultimate lure control. And with the multi-loading blank attributes working together during the cast, the TwitchFreak exhibits excellent casting distance that is comparable with much longer similar weight rods!
The TwitchFreak performs perfectly with either mono (FC) or braid lines with mono leaders*. The KR guide train is Fuji Fazlite ceramic in stainless steel frames.
The TwitchFreak Med incorporates Ian’s ‘Control Freak’ style handles, comprising Fuji SKSS reel seat over a blue carbon barrel, and custom-shaped x-firm EVA in the Millerods signature style blue Camoufish pattern, all finished with the ‘M’ logo anti-skid butt cap.
*Millerods recommends the use of the FG knot for connecting braided fishing lines to monofilament leaders. All Ian’s lure casting guide trains are selected with this connecting knot in mind.
